From April 2000, to July 2009, Son of Beast dominated the Kings Island skyline—a 218-foot wooden monster featuring a 214-foot drop, reaching 78 mph, incorporating a vertical loop (the only wooden coaster loop ever built), and stretching 7,032 feet through Ohio wilderness. Then it closed, got partially dismantled, stood dormant, and finally met the wrecking ball in 2012.
