Description
Wichita Witches — The Kansas Team That Won a Championship and Vanished Into History
There is a particular kind of story that only minor league baseball can tell. Not the story of dynasties and broadcast deals and nine-figure contracts, but the story of a team in a midsize American city playing hard baseball in front of a few thousand people who showed up because the game was theirs, the team was theirs, and the summer evening had nowhere better to be.
The Wichita Witches are that story. And they deserve a shirt.
The Witches operated out of Lawrence Stadium, a ballpark sitting along the Arkansas River in the Delano neighborhood of downtown Wichita, Kansas. The name itself was an event. In an era when most minor league teams reached for the obvious, Wichita went with something that stuck in the memory, something that had a little edge to it, a little mystery, a name that announced itself differently than the Jobbers or the Larks that preceded and followed. The Witches played in the Western League, a Class A circuit that took the game seriously even when the budgets did not.
Their run under that name stretched across two distinct periods. From 1912 to 1917 first, then again from 1921 to 1922, bookending a brief stint as the Jobbers. And in that second run, in 1921, they did something that justified every seat in Lawrence Stadium and every doubleheader played in the Kansas summer heat. They won the Western League championship with a 106-61 record, one of the most dominant single-season performances in the franchise’s history. Western League champions. Wichita, Kansas. 1921.
The team that preceded them, the Wichita Jobbers, had won Western Association titles in 1905 and 1907, which means the franchise bookended its existence with hardware. Not bad for a team that history mostly forgot.
They played a game worth watching. They played it in a city that understood baseball as community, as summer ritual, as something worth driving across town for on a Tuesday night. Lawrence Stadium would eventually be demolished in 2018, replaced by the modern Equity Bank Park that now hosts the Wichita Wind Surge. The river is still there. The Witches are not.
But a great garment-dyed heavyweight t-shirt is about as close as you can get.
This is not your standard print-on-demand graphic tee. The garment-dyed heavyweight construction gives the Wichita Witches design the weight and texture it deserves, a broken-in feel from the first wear, the kind of shirt that looks like it has a history because the story on the front already does. The vintage graphic sits on a canvas that earns it, substantial enough to hold the print, soft enough to reach for every morning without thinking twice.
It is a vintage baseball tee built for the person who understands that the best teams are not always the famous ones, that the Western League in 1921 produced baseball as competitive and as real as anything happening in the majors, and that a 106-61 championship season deserves to be remembered somewhere other than a statistics database.
Wear it to the current Wind Surge game as a quiet act of historical loyalty. Wear it at the farmers market as the most interesting shirt in the building. Wear it because Wichita had a team called the Witches and that is frankly incredible and not enough people know about it.
The garment-dye process gives each shirt a slightly unique finish, which means no two are exactly alike. Just like the 1921 Western League champions. One of a kind. Never repeated. Exactly right.
One championship season. One legendary name. Wear the Kansas classic.

FAQ
What is an 80s tee?
An 80s tee is a graphic T-shirt made in the 1980s, or designed to look as if it had been. The originals covered concerts, films, television shows, ball clubs, tourist attractions and local businesses, printed on thin cotton or cotton-polyester blanks. Today the term covers both surviving originals and new shirts built on the same look.
What products do you offer ?
The shop covers t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, tanks, and long sleeves, along with hats, mugs, and a growing range of accessories built around the same artwork. New pieces are added as new designs and collections come together.
Oui. Merch on Demand d’Amazon est non exclusif.
Are products made to order ?
Yes. Nothing is pre-printed or held in warehouse stock. Each order goes into production only after it's placed, which is what allows the shop to carry a wide, specific catalog instead of a narrow set of pre-stocked bestsellers.
What is your return policy ?
Returns and exchanges are handled directly, order number and details required. Full terms are outlined in the return policy.
